If you are thinking “Err… Maybe?” about eating amaebi, do it. You’ll cry “Yeah baby!” after. These shrimps are famous for sweetness. In fact, their translucent and tiny state (aww, adorable) indicates that they are early on in their life cycle— the peak of sweetness! The amaebi were caught wild off the coasts of Hokkaido and Russia, then flash-frozen on board the vessels for maximal freshness. Have them as sashimi to best enjoy their innate sweetness.
